Speaker: Mary Spolyar of Native Plant Society of Texas
Topic: Native Plants
Title: Gardening With Local Native Plants
Yearbook blurb is from speaker-provided bio:
Why plant local native plants? They conserve water, require less maintenance and create a sense of place. They’re adapted to our soils and climate patterns. Most importantly, they increase biodiversity in your landscape. We’ll explore a number of plants local to the Fort Bend area that are garden-worthy and are available for sale locally. Informative handouts will be available. Mary Spolyar is a Texas Master Naturalist in the Gulf Coast Chapter and an instructor for the Native Plant Society of Texas, Houston Chapter’s Native Landscape Certification Program.
