What
This program is designed to enhance appreciation for and understanding of plants and animals living in the Brazos Valley. Successful completion of eight hours of hands-on training culminates in a certificate.
Each session includes the following on-site activities:
- Preserved specimen demonstration
- Specimen touch table
- Activity table (demonstrations, simulations, question/answer)
- Kid’s craft table
- Additional information for adults

Participants
- Brazos Valley area students, ages 7-9, accompanied by a parent
Trainers
- Members, Brazos Valley Chapter, Texas Master Naturalists
All trainers have voluntarily undergone background security screening for working with children.

The four-week training program runs weekly each Tuesday evening in June.

Why
The program culminates in certification as a Junior Naturalist and entitles the certificate holder and his or her parents to participate in a half-day Saturday field trip led by a TMN volunteer.
How Much
The program is offered at no charge, but student participants must be accompanied by a parent.
