Winedale Historical Center

Winedale is a division of the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History at the University of Texas.  It is a complex of 19th century structures and modern facilities, situated on 225 acres of land that once was part of Stephen F. Austin’s colony.  The chapter in consultation with the CAH management and with the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center has developed a master plan.  The plan includes nature trails, native grass restoration, native plant restoration, wildlife habitat improvement, and educational programs for the public.  A summary of the Winedale Restoration Plan can be viewed by clicking on the link.  If you are interested in working on this project, please contact Dave Redden.

We use the meeting facilities on the Winedale campus for our special events, our business meetings, and our training classes.

We also support the Pioneer Chapter of the Herb Society of America in a project they have at the McGregor House on the CAH campus.  Work days are held about monthly around 1:30 pm in cool weather or around 9 am in warm weather.  Please contact Belinda Weatherly for more details.
