Bluestem Master Naturalists love the outdoors. We work to protect and preserve natural ecosystems and educate the community about the enviroment in general and specifically about our county and surrounding areas. We are very lucky to have Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge in our county, where thousands of birds migrate each year, and we work with programs that are sponsored by the Friends of Hagerman such as Refuge Rocks and Second Saturday. We also work with the Grayson County AgriLife Extension Office, Master Gardeners, and Eisenhower State Park.
Fall classes are offered on Thursday evenings/Saturdays to train volunteers to become master naturalists. Multiple members of a family may participate–teens younger than eighteen are welcome with a mentor: parent, aunt, uncle, grandparent, etc. Check the classes page for specific dates and times and application information, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
