AT -In-Person- Deep Dive on iNaturalist with Lisa Travis April 11
Hello BPTMN Members!
Join us in-person on Tuesday April 11 for a Deep Dive Class with Lisa Travis (BPTMN Class of 2018) on using the iNaturalist app.
This Deep Dive class will begin at 6:30 PM, immediately before our chapter meeting. This class is in-person ONLY. The class will NOT be available online via Zoom. Come early and earn an extra 30-minutes of AT!
NOTES: The class will be held outside if weather permits. Participants should have the iNaturalist app installed on their phone ahead of time.
Program: April 2023 Deep Dive
Date: Tuesday, April 11, 2023
Time: 6:30–7:00 PM
Location: Weather permitting, participants will go outside in small groups and walk around the SRC building to make observations. Meet on the front porch of the SRC.
If weather does not cooperate, we will use both SRC classrooms and view samples brought in from outside.
Speaker: Lisa Travis (BPTMN Class of 2018)
Description: Are you ready for the upcoming DFW/Fort Worth City Nature Challenge iNaturalist events on April 29 and 30? There are two events on Saturday, April 29, one at Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve in Plano and the other at Grand Park in Frisco with Special Guest Sam Kieschnick. Then on Sunday, April 30 there will be a morning event at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano and an afternoon event at Stewart Creek Wetlands Preserve in Frisco. Come join Lisa Travis in this short session to review how we collect useful biodiversity information using the iNaturalist app and have a great time while doing it!
About our speaker:
Lisa Travis is a graduate of the 2018 Master Naturalist Class, and has provided many educational opportunities within our chapter to learn about the iNaturalist app, trees, butterflies, etc. Lisa currently serves as our New Class Director.
