* Postponed* (AT) Creating Your Butterfly Nursery
July 4 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
This event has been postponed until further notice.
Location:Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary
Preparing for a butterfly “baby” (caterpillar) is much easier than preparing for a human baby. At this talk, you’ll learn how to prepare your “nursery” (garden) for the next generation of beautiful butterflies. No experience? No problem. We’ll walk you through the basics, including what they will lay eggs on, what the caterpillars need to eat and how to support their parents. You may even get to see live caterpillars.
Designed primarily for adults. Interested youth may attend withan adult. May not be suitable for children younger than 10 years. Talks are led by Melanie Schuchart, one of our key butterfly volunteers. Each presentation will last about an hour followed by a walk through the butterfly house and garden. Included in general admission and free for Heard Museum members. No preregistration required.
