Hello Blackland Prairie Master Naturalist!
Are you looking for an outdoor volunteer activity? Would you like to learn more about the nature and history of the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary? You can do both by becoming a Trail Guide at the Heard Natural Science Museum! The next 4-week series of training classes begins on Friday February 3.
Program: Trail Guide Training for the Heard Natural Science Museum
Dates/Times: Fridays, February 3, 10, 17, 24 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (You will need to bring a sack lunch!)
Description: Learn how to share your knowledge and love of nature with children and adults on the Heard trails from BPTMN Master Naturalist Dave Powell. You will learn about the flora and fauna of all the Heard trails during this training. Numerous school groups come to the Heard throughout the year to participate in guided trail walks, so new trained guides are always in demand! Guides are also needed for scout troops and for adult groups.
If you are not currently a Heard volunteer, you will need to become one to be a Heard Trail Guide. (See more information below.)
