(AT) Plant Party–Talking Ecology

Program:  Plant Party–Talking Ecology  

Description:  Plant Party quarterly webinar trainings are a collaboration between AgriLife Extension, USDA-NRCS, and TPWD.  They are offered FREE to provide an easy learning opportunity for our employees and volunteers, and clientele.

The theme this time is “Talking Ecology.”  There will be five, 15-minute presentations on Ecological Site Descriptions, Using Plant as Indicator Species, Converting Introduced Grass Fields to Natives, and How Weather Changes Influence Ecology.  It is really going to be an information-thick event, plus there are door prizes!

Topics/Speakers:   

  • Everything you Want to Know about Ecological Site Descriptions, Jason Hohlt, NRCS 
  • Using Plants as Indicator Species, Tom Siegmund, TPWD
  • Strategies to Convert Non-Native Grasses back to Native Grasslands, Tony Falk, TAMUK-CKWRI-Texas Native Seeds
  • How Weather Changes Have Impacted Ecology, John Nielsen-Gammon, State Climatologist
