Join us virtually on Tuesday, January 5th starting at 6:30 pm for social time and a 7:00 presentation by John E. Williams on Ferdinand Lindheimer, the “father of Texas botany”. Williams is the author of “The Writings of Ferdinand Lindheimer: Texas Botanist, Texas Philosopher”, the first English translation of Lindheimer’s essays. These essays provide valuable insights into the natural and cultural history of Texas. Williams will be discussing the book, how he translated the original German version, and what he learned about Lindheimer. Read more about Lindheimer.
