May 11, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

AT ONLINE – #TMNTuesday – Why Burn? Fire History and Fire Effects – May 11

Hi Blackland Prairie Texas Master Naturalists!

It’s time for another #TMNTuesday (Texas Master Naturalist Tuesday)!  This month’s #TMNT presentation is on the topic of Prescribed Burns.  This session will be recorded; so, you can listen later!  The recording should be posted by May 12.

Program: #TMNTuesday – May 11, 2021 – Why Burn?  Fire History and Fire Effects

Speaker:  Chris Schenck, Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, State Fire Program Leader

Dates:  Tuesday, May 11, 2021

Time:  12:00 Noon – 1:00 PM Central Standard Time

Location:  Online via the WebEx Platform

Program Description:

Most people are naturally afraid of fire and with some good reasons. But fire carefully applied to the land at the right time and conditions can return things to their natural functioning conditions. This is what Prescribed Fire is and rekindling a “Burn Culture in Texas” is so very important. Texas Master Naturalist can play a key role in this effort.

Remember, #TMNTuesdays seminar sessions are open to any and all, so invite your family, friends, and colleagues to join us!
