DFW Bioblitz Competition

Have you heard what’s afoot? Sam Kieschnick, TPWD, has challenged area TMN chapters to a friendly little bioblitz competition September 6-12. And iNaturalist is the tool for the job.

Any observations made in Collin or Hunt Counties increase BPTMN’s total. Look for naturally occurring organisms at home, a local park or preserve, or in a ditch. Blitz on your own, with your family, or join one of the outings the Chapter has set up. Sign up for as many of the events below as you like.

We’ll distance ourselves socially by forming groups of up to five and heading out for an walk of discovery. Each group will have a leader who knows iNaturalist and can help those new to the tool.

Bring plenty of water, appropriate footwear, masks, a camera and/or smart phone, and the naturalist tools of your desire (nets, Petri dishes, magnifiers). Restroom access may be limited at venues, so check out the notes below.
