VH – McKinney Greens Tree Maintenance Volunteer Day

Hello BPTMN!
Here is an opportunity to earn some VH volunteering with the McKinney Parks Foundation to check in on the trees planted during the Restore the Canopy Tree Planting Event in 2021.
Event: McKinney Greens Tree Maintenance Volunteer Day
Date: Saturday, May 13, 2023
Time: 7:30 AM for safety orientation, 8:00-11:00 AM for workday

Work Plan: Tree care by checking in on the trees planted during the Restore the Canopy Tree Planting Event in 2021. Trees may need to be pushed upright, tall grass areas trimmed, etc. Including trash collection and path maintenance.
Location: McKinney Greens Park, 798 Stewart Rd McKinney, TX 75069.
Parking: Parking is available on Stewart Road on the right in front of the entrance. The Stewart Rd. entrance can be accessed by turning off Highway 5 (north of 121, south of El Dorado).
Dress: Long pants, long sleeves, and closed toed shoes or boots. You will also need to have your own work gloves. All tools will be provided by the McKinney Parks Foundation.
Bring: You will need a signed waiver (see form link below). Bring a water bottle. Bring tools if you have any you’d prefer to use.

Other Information:
- Print the volunteer waiver (https://www.mckinneyparksfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/2022-MPF-Waiver.pdf) and bring it with you. Participants under age 18 need to have a guardian or parent sign the form.
- Please arrive about 10 minutes early for a safety orientation, waiver sign in, and team assignments.
- NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS are on site, please use the QT gas station on HWY 5
