VH – The Canyon Creek Wetlands and Wildscape

Hello Master Naturalists!
This opportunity is in Richardson, offering members who live in SW Collin County an volunteer option close to home. The project has a reoccurring 3rd Saturday workday from 8 am-12 pm. Approved workers can also work independently any day, any time.
Event: The Canyon Creek Wetlands and Wildscape
Date: Third Saturday of each Month
Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Work Plan: Removal of invasive plant species, protecting existing native plants, planting native grasses, wildflowers and trees using volunteers from the community and the Texas Master Naturalist programs improve the biodiversity of these pockets Blackland prairie and riparian areas.
There is a scheduled workday on the third Saturday of every month from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Volunteers may also work independently on any day at any time to remove Scabiosa, Queen Anne’s Lace, broom weed, and Johnson Grass only after a City of Richardson waiver has been completed, sent to, and approved by Julia Koch.

Parking: Park behind the Hilton Garden Inn
Dress: Routine dress code for activity in the field: Long-pants, boots/close-toed shoes; long-sleeved shirts are recommended. Master Naturalists should wear their name badges.
Bring: Drinking water, gloves, sunscreen, insect repellant and face mask (just in case)
