Timeline of Events

 

November 1, 2019 – Training program registration opens. Applications, the course curriculum, and information about the Master Naturalist volunteer program are available on this website, or by emailing education@bptmn.org

 

January 14, 2020 – Blackland Prairie Chapter Master Naturalist OPEN HOUSE
January 14th at 7:00 p.m. at the Science Resource Center building at the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary, McKinney.
This is an opportunity to talk to current Master Naturalists and ask questions. Join us for an informal gathering of folks with a common interest in our natural world.

 

January 15, 2020 – Applications for the Master Naturalist training program are due.  

 

February 9, 2020 – Come to our Meet & Greet event a few days prior to our first class session. Meet the people face-to-face who will be guiding you through your training. Start getting to know your classmates, become familiar with our class location, and of course avail yourself of important information you’ll need to know so you can make the most of your training. 

 

February 12 – May 6, 2020 – Master Naturalist Training Classes.
Classes are scheduled on each Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at:

Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary
1 Nature Place
McKinney, Texas 75069

 

May 7, 2020 – May 15, 2021 – Become a certified Texas Master Naturalist by completing your 40 hours of volunteer service and attending your 8 hours of advanced training. 

Instructors are specialists in diverse fields of ecological studies. The curriculum includes classroom and field study. The training fee for 2020 is $150.
