Speaker<\/strong>: 
Suzanne Tuttle is a plant ecologist who retired in 2016 as Manager of the Fort Worth Nature Center &
Refuge after a 23-year career at the park. She holds a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Biology from UT Arlington
and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Horticulture from Tarrant County Junior College (now
TCC).
Suzanne has taught training classes for various North Texas chapters of the Texas Master Naturalist
program since 1999 and helped found the Cross Timbers Chapter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Topic: Miles and Miles of Texas: My Visit to Every State Park Retirement Project<\/strong>
Her first retirement project was to visit every Texas State Park and State Natural Area. The COVID
pandemic slowed her progress for a couple of years, but she joyfully completed her quest on October
22, 2022 at Palmetto State Park near San Antonio. This presentation touches on her adventures and the
insights she gained on her multi-year quest<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take a gander at the events coming up; our VHAT calendar<\/strong><\/a> is a testament to the growth and vibrancy of our community and prairie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether you’re mothing at the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center<\/strong> or the Shoreline Trail<\/strong>, walking the Clymer Prairie<\/strong> this Saturday, helping with “Lights Out, Dallas<\/strong>!” bird surveys, or joining the call for our Accessibility Team<\/strong>, your dedication ensures that the spirit of conservation continues to thrive across North Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are also thrilled to introduce the Interactive Trees of North Texas Digital Key <\/strong><\/em>from Lisa and Rick Travis\u2014a fantastic new web app that makes identifying Trees of North Texas on your smartphone<\/strong> easier than ever! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This May is packed with fantastic Community Engagement events<\/strong> across North Texas\u2014from pocket prairie presentations<\/strong> to evening mothing events<\/strong>\u2014and while volunteers are already stepping up to share the love of nature, there are still a couple of spots left to fill!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
