This will include you in all of our application reminder emails.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Take a look at a <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/presentation\/d\/1rVgx8qXVccxZgyoe38xCmbXUp3nzs42Nn9VKlqmBtXQ\/edit?usp=sharing\">partial list of volunteer projects<\/a> to confirm that you will be able to meet the requirements of 40 volunteer hours per year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Look at our <a href=\"https:\/\/txmn.org\/bptmn\/calendar\/\">chapter calendar<\/a> to see which projects interest you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preview the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/presentation\/d\/15NpTVPvwZmOxKE_Tp9nsPz8PemxhyaIgmx8XT-BaWIc\/edit?usp=sharing\">application questions<\/a> and begin planning your responses. It is very important that you give <em>detailed<\/em> information when completing the application form. We have created a <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/presentation\/d\/1bOhesv1qIc__15grmDeeJxBRuVkEsnyJxRY30OhKdYI\/edit?usp=sharing\">question guide<\/a> to explain what information we are looking for.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remember that while you are waiting, you can attend our chapter meetings as a guest and can individually volunteer with our partner projects. class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A personal narrative reviewing the steps taken over the past several years to develop a strong, productive, and trusting relationship between the Blackland Prairie Chapter and the Parks Department in Frisco, TX. This discussion will include examples of the significant positive impact this relationship has had on the inclusion of natural areas in the planning and design of parkland, as well as increasing chapter involvement in other education\/restoration\/conservation efforts within the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>About Our Speaker: Rick Travis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rick owns a Bachelors\u2019 Degree in Forest Management and an MBA, both from Stephen F. Austin State University. With retirement from his business career, Rick is fulfilling a long-deferred desire for involvement in the environmental sciences. He is an active member of the Blackland Prairie Master Naturalist Chapter and served as Chapter President from 2022 through 2025. Rick is also a member of Frisco\u2019s Natural Resources Advisory Board and works closely with Frisco Parks on multiple projects within the city. Master Naturalist impact your life?  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><mark style=\"background-color:#ffffff\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">This month we hear from <strong>Paul Napper, Class of 2015<\/strong>:<\/mark><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I became a BPTMN member in 2015.\u00a0 Nature and outdoor activities were always my favorite. The training class was fun and created some excitement at a time when my working career was winding down.\u00a0 Several areas of my life have been impacted.\u00a0 The people I met and got to work with and learn from were, and continue to be, such a wonderful blessing. There are so very many passionate people willing to share their interests and knowledge. I wasn&#8217;t thinking of this impact when I started my training. My mind began to explore ideas from the TMN classes.\u00a0 I built and installed blue bird houses. I planted several native plants and put native seed out.\u00a0 Trail guiding was fun, so I volunteered at various places needing trail guides.\u00a0 After telling my wife Cindy how much fun it was, she took the training classes and joined the chapter. We enjoy planning new flower beds that attract butterflies and bees. This has spilled over to taking our Grandchildren on nature hikes and teaching them what we can about nature. One of the coolest things I discovered is that I enjoy helping teach small children about nature. They are full of energy and love to learn. It\u2019s really a privilege to see kids learning and laughing. I\u2019m also learning some things from the teachers during these classes. Discovering new things all the time has made me happier in general. That&#8217;s another thing I did not know would happen when I took the BPTMN training class. So, the impact on my life has been great. C. Creations will be creating your custom products in bulk to be available for pickup at the TMN Annual Meeting in Waco.
