August 2018 Monthly Meeting – Barbara Willy speaking on Landowner-to-Landowner – An Informal Conversation About My Wildlife Restoration for Pollinators

Milam County landowner and wildlife enthusiast, Barbara Willy, founder of Monarch Gateway, a non-profit that facilitates the creation of wildlife habitat for pollinators and other species will present her personal 1D1 Wildlife Management Plan for pollinators on her family property Ford Blackland Prairie Pollinator Wildlife Habitat as well as the site’s Blackland Prairie restoration plan to show how the pollinator category of wildlife management can benefit our native Texas pollinators and landowners. As restoration continues, the property, and room-sized photography blind, will be open by invitation only, to participants who want to observe scheduled, expert led restoration and the implementation of habitat improvements for pollinators and other wildlife. Improvement topics include everything from nesting boxes to live-staking stream stabilization. Monarch Gateway seeks to respectfully satisfy people, their goals for their land and the needs of all the property’s animals and uses, including wildlife.
