Field trip: Waco Mammoth Site & Mayborn Museum

Please join us for our next field trip, on Saturday, June 9, to see mammoths in Waco! We will depart from the BRTC at 9am and start our day with a tour of the Waco Mammoth National Monument dig site. We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch and then head to the Mayborn Museum at Baylor University. Here we’ll see a different view of the Waco mammoths — original casts of the fossils are housed beneath a glass floor, allowing visitors a unique, up-close view of the mammoths.
You are welcome to join us for both or just one of the destinations (we can coordinate carpools at the BRTC, or you can travel independently). The Mammoth Site charges $5 per person (with discounts for seniors, students, educators, and children) and the Mayborn Museum charges $7 per person (with discounts for seniors and children).
