AT: Chapter Program: Clint Faas on Deer Chronic Wasting Disease & Feral Hogs, Amber Leung on Snake Fungal Disease

Chapter advisor, Clint Faas, will give a background and offer recent information on chronic wasting disease (CWD) which afflicts deer in Texas as well as an overview of possible new control methods and issues with feral hogs.

Clint is the Texas Parks and Wildlife biologist for Wharton and Fort Bend Counties.  A Wharton County native, he graduated from Texas A&M University in 2005 with a B.S. in Wildlife Ecology and Management and a minor in Rangeland Ecology and Management.  He went on to obtain a M.S. in Wildlife Ecology from Texas State University in 2008.  Post-graduation, and prior to coming to TPWD, Faas worked as a biologist on a private ranch and Director of Conservation Programs for Texas Wildlife Association.

Amber Leung, chapter past president, will talk about a relatively new wildlife threat in Texas:  fungal disease in snakes.

MEETING LOCATION!!  Click Rosenberg Civic Center below for the map of 3825 TX-36, Rosenberg, TX 77471. Come hear an expert speak about a timely topic at 7 p.m.  The meeting will be preceded by a social time and snacks at 6:30 p.m.    Around 8:00pm, we will have a short chapter general business meeting.   

The meeting is free and open to all interested persons.
