AT: Gardening With Local Native Plants by MARY SPOLYAR

January 21, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Gardening with Local Native Plants

Why plant local native plants?

They conserve water.

They require less maintenance.

They create a sense of place.

They are adapted to our soils and climate patterns.

They increase biodiversity in the landscape.

Ms. Spolyar will discuss a number of plants local to the Fort Bend area that are garden-worthy and are available for sale locally. Informative handouts will be available.

Mary Spolyar is a Texas Master Naturalist in the Gulf Coast Chapter and an instructor for the Native Plant Society of Texas, Houston Chapter’s Native Landscape Certification Program.
