AT: Lecture – Space City Weather: What Makes Houston Forecasting Unique? with Eric Berger & Matt Lanza

August 13 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$10 – $16

Houston meteorologists Eric Berger and Matt Lanza, will talk about the original idea behind their Space City Weather web site–in an era of hype they would actively not hype the weather. The site blew up during Hurricane Harvey, when a large chunk of the region relied on Space City Weather as the sprawling storm drenched Houston. They will review how unprecedented Harvey was, what it’s like to write about weather online during the social media era, the hurricane threats Houston is not prepared for, and what to expect this season as the Atlantic nears its peak. Early Bird available until 8/6 Regular price starting on 8/7
In the Wortham Giant Screen Theatre
