VSP: 2024 Saturday Outreach at the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land

June 22 @ 10:30 am - 3:30 pm

Join us in reaching out to the community every 2nd and 4th Saturday at the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land.  Share your knowledge of nature in a beautiful setting with families and kids at the museum.

June-What’s that Bug in my Backyard? 6/8/24 and 6/22/24

BACKYARD OBSERVATION WOW-Lead Kayleigh Minin

Learn different types of bugs that are in our local area
Learn how bugs are part of the ecosystem and why they are so important
Fact or fiction? Interesting facts about bugs-mating, eating, where they live and how they survive (parasitizing bugs)
Make a bug craft

We will have two shifts per Saturday-the morning shift from 10:30-1:00 and the afternoon shift from 1:00-3:30.  We are asking that 2 people sign up per shift to assist the lead with outreach.  Additionally, we have a new slot this year for a backup volunteer and/or members who would like to observe or be trained on the topic or the respective WOW presentation.

Questions?  Contact Katie Sallean or Jamie Fairchild. Look for the SignUp Genius pinned to the #vsp channel in Slack or on Tuesday’s emailed Weekly Bulletin.
