VSP: Edith Moore Nature Sanctuary Community Workdays

April 27, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

COMMUNITY WORKDAYS

Join the crew at the Edith Moore Nature Sanctuary for a morning of gardening and sanctuary maintenance.  They work 9 AM – 12 PM, once a month on the 4th Saturday from September through April (3rd Saturday in November and December).  Activities include trail maintenance, filling bird feeders and baths, litter pick-up, native gardening, and invasive species removal. It’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors and meet like-minded friends! Bring water, sunscreen, bug repellent & gloves/clippers if you have them. Wear closed-toe shoes & long pants. Bring sack lunch if desired. Children of any age are welcome with their parent/chaperone. (Minimum age without a parent/chaperone is 14 years.) There is a maximum of 30 participants on a workday.

All volunteers must pre-register by the Wednesday before workday by writing Juanita Perkins at jperkins@houstonaudubon.org.

Remaining workdays in 2019: March 23, April 27,  November 16, December 21.

[VSP hours are to be recorded in VMS under: “Houston Audubon Society: TMN Report Hours”.   Note that this VSP opportunity is located outside of our chapter’s territory of Fort Bend and Waller counties, therefore hours volunteered here will have to be applied towards the maximum of 20 hours allowed per year outside of our territory.]
