Fly Fishing – AT

The Dallas Fly Fishers will conduct the TPWD Fly Fishing and Fishing Certification Class on September 10 at LLELA from 9 am to 3pm. Most of the class will be in an indoor air conditioned classroom except for casting instruction. The student should bring a sack lunch, water, glasses and a hat and be ready for a day of fun learning a new skill.
The purpose of the class is to qualify the student to become an instructor and to be able to instruct or assist in conducting fly fishing and or fishing classes. The student does not need to have all the all the fishing of fly fishing skills, the student will learn how a class should be organized and instructed according to the TPWD curriculum requirements for conducting Fly Fishing and Fishing Classes. The class will cover casting, fly tying, rules, ethics, knots, entomology, fish identification, rules, and safety. Students must pass TPWD background checks and submit their application online. Master Naturalist students have already passed the background check.
There is no charge for this class. There may be a $5 gate entrance fee.
Do not leave the site for lunch, bring your own lunch and eat on site.
You will find this to be a very interesting class with lots of hands on activities.
You will earn 5 hours of Advanced Training (AT) for this class.
