Journey to Secure a Better Future for Texas Mountain Lions – AT

Texas mountain lions face incredible odds. Hunting and trapping remain unlimited as habitat shrinks across the state.
There is no data on how many exist, and no mandatory requirement to report harvested lions. Ironically, they’re classified as imperiled (S2)/threatened (S3); yet they persist in spite of our actions.
Learn how Texas Native Cats is building an effort to help our keystone predator, through education, collaboration, and strategic partnerships.
Monica Morrison is the founder of Texas Native Cats, an organization that provides education, outreach, and advocacy for Texas’ five species of wild native cats, past and present. She has more than 20 years’ experience with wild felines, both in captivity and in the wild.
