Texas Stream Team is a water quality community science program that has been active since 1991. Texas Stream Team trains individuals and groups on how to monitor water quality using a series of chemical tests, which allows them to connect to and understand the health of their local waterways. No experience necessary!
Speaker: Ally Schlandt, The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment
Ally Schlandt is the Program and Outreach Specialist at the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment’s Watershed Services division. In this role she helps run the Texas Stream Team Community Science program by leading water quality trainings and providing education and outreach events, and also works on various projects such as the Texas General Land Office’s Clean Coast Texas program and water quality monitoring for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s Clean Rivers Program. She received her Bachelor of Science in Geography – Resource and Environmental Studies in 2019 and received her Master of Science in Geography in 2022, both from Texas State University.
