Flower Mound Parks and Recreation is offering a quarterly bird watching hike in Heritage Park. Friends of Furneaux Creek considers every Saturday as a  "Trail Opportunity Day" to allow volunteers to help with trail maintenance and projects. Volunteers should check with Richard Johnson, cell 469-877-0695 before coming to  the trail to confirm the activities scheduled for the day. A trail coordinator will be appointed when Richard is not available.  Volunteer hours are normally in the morning, but are flexible to fit into the planned activity and individuals schedule.

Come out to the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA) to use your Master Naturalist skills.  We’ll be working in the greenhouse. Dress for the weather and bring your work gloves, insect protection, and a bottle of water. Volunteers meet at the Greenhouse between 8:45 and 9:00 AM. Join Richard, Susan and Scott to clear brush, remove invasives, maintain and build trails,  light up the occasional managed burn, and any other heavy work that needs to get done around the place. We will be working all over the property depending on what the priority is from week to week. Bring water, work gloves and bug spray, chainsaws strictly optional, but welcome.
