Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Good Water Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 2027 Spring Training Class will begin on Tuesday, March 2, and will meet on Tuesday afternoons from 1:00-5:00 p.m. through Tuesday, May 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participants are strongly encouraged to attend all classes and field trips, but in the case of absences makeups are arranged on an individual basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Class Size is limited to 30. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Texas Master Naturalist Program\u2019s mission is to develop a corps of well-informed volunteers to provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities for the State of Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What is the Texas Master Naturalist Program?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
The program exists jointly under the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service..<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Texas Master Naturalist program has three components:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advanced Training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
We believe everyone with an interest in nature deserves to learn, grow, and share their passion as a member of the Good Water Master Naturalist Chapter<\/em><\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Good Water Chapter holds two training series each year, in spring and fall. Spring training runs from March through May, on Tuesday afternoons from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Fall training runs September through mid-December, on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 pm to 9:00 p.m. The Spring Class will meet upstairs in room AG205 at 100 Wilco Way, Georgetown, Texas. Seven or more in-person field sessions will be offered at off-site locations on Saturdays which will include moderate walking. Classes cover subjects that include, but are not limited to, amphibians, reptiles, bats, geology, forests, trees, wildflowers, mammals, birds, archaeology, habitat\u2013alltaught by experts in their fields with an emphasis on Central Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You must pass a background check.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
You are required to complete 40 hours of initial training, 40 hours of volunteer service and 8 hours of advanced training to become certified as a Texas Master Naturalist. You have 1 year from the date of your first class to complete these hours. Cutoff date for acceptance in this class is February 26.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
Registration fee is $150 per person, or $270 for couples\/partners sharing a book. This fee covers the curriculum book, name tags, handouts, background check, admission fees for field sessions, certificates. The fee also includes chapter membership fees for one year. Partial scholarships are available. Acceptance is on a first come first serve basis for the 30 participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\t\t\t\t
