The Heart of Texas Chapter is located in Central Texas, serving McLennan, Bosque, Hill, Limestone, Coryell and Falls counties.
The Chapter was founded in 2003, and has made its unofficial home at the City of Waco’s Lake Waco Wetlands, a 180+ acre preserve that enhances water quality in Lake Waco and provides habitat for a wide variety of native Texas plants and animals. Our members have a wide variety of interests: water quality issues, species monitoring, prairie restoration, and much more! From birds in your backyard to frogs at night, we have activities and projects to suit your passion for nature. Won’t you join us? Click on “Contacts” above to get more information about our Chapter.
