Friends of Lake Livingston Volunteer Opportunities – Details for April 23 and 30
Have you thought about volunteering with Friends of Lake Livingston? We have two upcoming volunteer
opportunities to participate in the next Friends of Lake Livingston planting events, which will be on April
23 and April 30, starting at 8:00 am each day. The location will be along the shoreline of Lake Livingston
at 162 Thomas Lake Rd, Huntsville, where we will be expanding the areas planted in the fall. Volunteers
are needed to oversee participating high school students as they are planting beneficial riparian plants,
conducting water testing and macroinvertebrate studies, and learning more about aquatic ecosystems.
Also, we need at least two additional boats that have the capacity of 6 or more people to shuttle
students and volunteers across a small stretch of water to get from the dock at 162 Thomas Lake Rd to
the planting sites. Boats will launch from Cove Marina. If you or someone you know has a boat they can
bring on one or both of the dates, please let us know.
VMS code: RM – Friends of Lake Livingston.
If you are interested in being added to the Friends of Lake Livingston volunteer list, for these or future
dates, please contact Kim Lindenfeld, [email protected] or 832-457-0426.
