Event Description:
Join us for an overview of the conservation status of Texas land snails. Texas has an incredible number of land snail species within its borders and more are being discovered every year. Dr. Kathryn Perez, Associate Professor at UTRGV will walk us through her recent field work and assessment of the Texas species, including many Species of Greatest Conservation Need (SGCN). She will share some of the knowledge we have gained about their distribution, habitat associations and current status.
