Information about regenerative grazing, soil health and monitoring

Event Description:
The National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) will host a two-part workshop in August for ag professionals, educators, and mentor farmers to provide information and hands-on training on regenerative grazing, soil health, and monitoring. NCAT soil and livestock specialists will be joined by Dr. Allen Williams of Understanding Ag, LLC. to lead these workshops. The first workshop is virtual.

We will equip participants with the tools and information needed to confidently help producers understand soil health and regenerative grazing management. Questions we will explore include:

• How is regenerative different from sustainable or organic?
• How does this terminology shape farmers’ decision-making processes?
• What indicators can farmers use to determine whether their management practices are building or damaging soil health?
• What can ag professionals and educators do to support farmers in their efforts to improve grazing management and build soil health?

We will explore these topics and more. Join us!

Part 1: Virtual Workshop
August 24, 2021, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Central Time (with 1 hour break for lunch from 12:00-1:00 p.m.)

Part 2: On-Farm Workshop: BDA Farm, Uniontown, AL
August 27, 2021, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m
