Event Description:
Join us for a how-to educational program on the identification and management of emergent aquatic vegetation species, commonly referred to as shoreline plants. First we will start off defining true emergent aquatic plants and how they differ than terrestrial plants. We will then cover identification characteristics of the top ten emergent plants commonly found in Texas ponds. Once identified, we will briefly discuss their biology and how that plays a role in the pond’s ecosystem and management. Specific management strategies, including mechanical, biological, and chemical, and even planting options, when applicable, will be covered for each grouping. Finally, we will discuss the timing of treatments and common mistakes in relation to management.
Cost: $35.00
