Event Summary:
Join us for a Fire Field Day that will qualify for the in-person prescribed burn field day for the Texas Department of Agriculture Certified and Insured Prescribed Burn Manager license program. This field day will also offer 6 Continuing Fire Training credits for licensed CIPBMs.

Event Description:
The April 19-21, 2023 Prescribed Burn School will consist of the Texas Department of Agriculture Certified and Insured Prescribed Burn Manager 24-hr curriculum, final exam, and in-person prescribed burn field day. This program will also offer 6 Continuing Fire Training Credits for each day of participation for those looking to maintain their credits for current CIPBMs.

This school is open to anyone who would like to gain more hands-on experience with prescribed fire participating in fire ignitions, weather measurements, and holding suppression support. The burn school will be held at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and Research Center in San Angelo, TX with more details released prior to the field day. Lunch is provided each day.

Additional Details:
Wear proper protective equipment and bring water (leather gloves, hat, long-sleeve cotton shirt, denim jeans no frayed edges, leather boots)
All field days are contingent upon desirable/within prescription fire weather forecasts and are subject to rescheduling due to undesirable weather conditions.
The order of prescribed burn and exam will depend on the burn day forecast with details to be relayed to registered participants as the weather forecast is finalized.
