This webinar will cover the aspects of wildlife habitat and how to recreate these habitats in participants gardens. A special focus will be placed on the value of native plants to provide food and shelter.
Attendees will be able to submit questions and answers during the webinar and receive answers live as time allows. Questions that are received after the webinar will receive an email response.
The speaker, John Davis is Conservation Program Coordinator Austin Parks and Recreation Department and is responsible for the city’s Land Management Program helping the city manage its system of nature preserves as native ecosystems for Species of Greatest Conservation Need as identified in the state’s Wildlife Action Plan as well as build constituencies to support that work.
He is also the Wildlife Austin program coordinator seeking to improve the ecological sustainability of the Austin area using healthy native wildlife populations as the metric for success.
John has a B.S. Biology – Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, TX. 1991, a M.S. Biology – University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, TX. 1993, and a M.C.R.P. City and Regional Planning – University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, TX. 2006
