Event Summary: Discussion of basic biology, ecology and cultural significance of Agaves.
Event Description:Join Robert Howells for an introduction to agaves. We will cover biology, husbandry, ecology and the cultural importance of agave species. Bob Howells is a retired fishery biologist and aquatic ecologist. He previously worked on the staff of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and did environmental research with Ichthyhological Associates, Inc., an environmental consulting firm. Bob came to Kerrville in the early 1980s to do aquatic research at Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Heart of the Hills Fishery Science Center. Primary areas of interest have included exotic fishes, shellfishes, and aquatic plants and freshwater mussels (major barometers of environmental quality)
