VT: First Friday Work Day at Love Creek – Bandera County

March 3, 2023 @ 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Howdy All!

We will be hosting our First Friday workday for March this Friday, the 3rd for those who can make it. We will meet at the bunkhouse on Clark Creek at 8:30am. Activities planned for the day include a continuation of work on the stone walkway we started constructing at our February workday, along with putting up some additional bluebird boxes. The year keeps slipping by, so hopefully it’s not too late to get them up and have them be utilized this spring, but regardless, they need to be put up!! The first priority will be working on the walkway, and if there are enough folks who attend, I’ll take a couple to help with the bluebird box installation.

There will be a little bit of additional grubbing/digging to do to get the pathway leveled for the stone installation, but a lot of the work will be selecting and placing the rocks in the path and then stabilizing them when we are happy with the layout.

I will bring some grubbing/digging tools, as well as a wheelbarrow (I’ll make sure the tire is aired up this time!!), but if you have a favorite grubbing tool you would like to bring, feel free to do so. Otherwise, work gloves, water and any snacks/food you might want are the main things to bring. For any newbies, we typically wrap up our workday around noon. If folks need to leave early, you are welcome to do so.

Directions to the bunkhouse are attached, but feel free to contact me if you have any questions. If you plan to attend, please let me know so we have a rough idea of how many people to expect and can plan accordingly with tools and supplies.

Thanks so much and I hope to see everyone on Friday!!
