“How Beef Production, Biodiversity, and Habitat Preservation Go Hand In Hand”
by Meredith Ellis from G Bar C Ranch

Meredith Ellis believes the biggest mistake we can make is to forget about the vast wilderness of ranch land that is preserved from the threat of industry and development. The great symbiotic relationship that cattle have developed over centuries makes her job as a rancher one of simply keeping that balance of nature, and in doing so, has left her with great admiration of its simplicity and beauty of that process. Ranchers are the keepers of the land, and the benefits of their stewardship are known by all the living things that call it home. It’s time to not just value ranch land for the food it provides, but to the important services it gives to our natural world.
