Election of President and Treasurer for 2021-2022
Texas’ rapid population growth equates to ever increasing demand on our finite water resources. Texas is blessed with abundant water, but it isn’t always where you want it and the quality may limit our ability to use it. Every five years, Texas completes a comprehensive state water plan titled “Water for Texas.” This presentation will overview the process used to develop this water plan, highlight its major components, and provide an outlook on the future of water resources management in Texas.
Dr. Lucas Gregory currently serves as an assistant director and quality assurance officer for the Texas Water Resources Institute. He joined the Institute in 2006 and focuses his work on understanding the drivers of changing surface water quality, working with local groups to restore impaired waters, and better understanding the connections between water quality and human health.
