Trail Between the Lakes Hike

HIKE the TRAIL BETWEEN THE LAKES with the Golden Triangle Sierra Club Group on JUNE 1, 2019 for a one-day trip. Meet the group at 9 a.m. at the Sportsman’s Cafe on Hwy 87 at Six Mile (near Hemphill) across from the FM 2928 intersection. From there we will shuttle to the trailhead at Lakeview. Field Trip – Fish Hatchery

June 8 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Visit the John D. Parker East Texas State Fish Hatchery located below Sam Rayburn Reservoir.  To get there, take Jasper County Road 218, which joins Texas Recreational Road 255 just east of the Sam Rayburn Dam (about halfway between Texas 63 and US 96 north of Jasper). The hatchery's physical address is 900 CR 218, Brookeland. The hatchery produce species of bass, catfish and bluegill for stocking into Texas waters.

Graduation!

June 18 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

A graduation celebration for the 2019 students will be held June 18 at the Martin Dies Dining Hall. We will start at 5 pm with free time until 6 that could include hiking and paddling if you have a canoe or kayak you want to bring.  Current members will serve a meal at 6, followed by fun and ceremonies.
