Watson Preserve Wildflower Walk

Explore the beautiful Watson Preserve on a wildflower walk led by  Joe Liggio.  The rare Snowy Orchid (Platanthera nivea) should be in bloom, and the beautiful Pine-woods Rose Gentian. You will probably also see Red Milkweed, Tuberous Grasspink orchids, Purple Pleatleaf, Butterfly Milkweed, Hollow Joe-Pye Weed, Golden Miller's-Maid, and Woodland Poppymallow. Fall Butterfly Festival

Our chapter will have a booth at the Fall Butterfly Festival at the Jasper County Courthouse Square. Donald Fralick will be heading up the committee and will need help setting up and staffing the booth so we can provide outreach and children’s activities. The Master Gardeners have butterfly activities at the Arboretum/Outdoor Learning Center. The Jasper-Lake Sam Rayburn Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the annual Dam2Dam Saddle and Paddle on November 7, 2020. We have the opportunity to volunteer to help with registration, serving food, cleanup, and assisting kayakers.
