Virtual Chapter Meeting with Guest Speaker — Public Welcome

October 1, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

NOTE: Due to COVID-19, meetings will be virtual via Zoom until in-person gatherings are determined to be safe. There will be no potluck. Meeting will start with the guest speaker at 6:30. If you are not a member and would like to participate in a virtual meeting, please send your request to riobrazoswebmaster@gmail.com.

All members, guests, and visitors are invited to the chapter’s monthly meetings. Visit with members, learn about the Texas Master Naturalist program, and be inspired by a special guest speaker each month. Members bring a dish for potluck dinner. Watch the calendar for meeting locations as they rotate throughout the three-county chapter area.

6:30   Speaker – Avery Smith – Roadrunners. Avery is a recent graduate from Texas Tech University, where she studied Natural Resources Management with an emphasis in Wildlife Biology. She had the opportunity to work for Texas Tech University on a graduate student project investigating ecological characteristics of roadrunners. She is now working for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) as a Soil Conservationist in Granbury, Texas. She works with landowners, giving them advice on how they may improve an aspect of their cattle, haying, or vegetable operation. Birding is a fun hobby Avery enjoys partaking in.
