Mothing at Acton Nature Center
July 30 @ 8:00 pm - 11:30 pm
Mothing at the ANC returns! This is a free public event for all ages. Children’s activities will start at 8:00 PM. Hear Sam Kieschnick with Texas Parks and Wildlife talk about moths at approximately 8:30 PM as the sun sets. Sam is informative, engaging, and entertaining, so you don’t want to miss this! Following Sam’s talk, you will be led to various light stations where you can “capture”, study, and learn about moths with “Moth-ers” (moth experts). Link to flyer with details here.
Chapter volunteers are needed for setup and to direct parking beginning at 7 PM, and for the children’s activities starting at 8 PM. Throughout the evening you may assist the public by showing them the way to the various light stations set up by the “Moth-ers.” The public presentation on mothing can be counted as Advanced Training. Help with the 11:30 PM closing is appreciated. Contact Valerie Taber if you’d like to volunteer.
Event is subject to cancellation if there are strong winds or rain/thunderstorms.
