September Chapter Meeting & Hawk Watch

September 21 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Meet at the amphitheater at Daingerfield State Park
455 Park Road 17
Daingerfield, TX
It is the season of migration for many animals. Monarchs, hummingbirds, and many birds are on the move. On Saturday we will be on the lookout for hawks. Our speakers this month will be David and Luanne Brotherton. They are residents of Daingerfield, avid bird watchers, and have published a book titled 100 Birds of Morris County. They document the hawk migration every year at the park.
10 am – Hawk watch at the amphitheater area. Bring your binoculars, a chair, water and maybe a camera.
11:am – Hawks and Migration presentation at dining hall. A short business meeting will follow.
12:30(ish) – Potluck lunch. hotdogs and brats and all the fixings provided. If members would like to bring tea, chips, desserts, or other food items that would be nice.
With so many activities going on, we will not be doing Donations for Dollars this month. You can bring your prizes to our October meeting at the Paris Public Library.
While at the park, Dennis will be providing new trainees who missed the Lennox Woods field trip an opportunity to make up those hours. Other members may join the stroll through the woods for additional AT. More information on the time and meeting location will be sent out later.
