Description: Found growing throughout our region usually on loam to clay loam soils in prairies and open woodlands. It has a basal rosette of short, broad leaves during the winter and flowers in the summer and fall. The base of the leaf has long, stiff hairs. It is of little value to most wildlife species and cattle.
