Big Thicket Turkey Creek Trail “Opt Out” Hike

Burn off the turkey with a hike on the Turkey Creek Trail!  Join a ranger as we avoid the post-holiday slump on this hike along the northernmost section of the Turkey Creek Trail.  From upland longleaf pine savannah to moist deciduous forests, this 6-mile round-trip hike will showcase some of the diversity found within the Big Thicket.  Participants should be prepared with good walking shoes and adequate water.

Meet at the north end of the Turkey Creek Trail on FM1943. Hikers can also meet at the Big Thicket visitor center at 9:15 am to caravan to the trailhead.
