Tentative dates will be Sept 9-11, Sept 23-25, Oct 7-9, Oct 21-23 and Nov 11-13. These dates may need to be shifted to match site availability.
While in session the new class will attend weekend sessions at Davis Mountains State Park, Balmorhea State Park, The Nature Conservancy, Davis Mountains Preserve, Elephant Mountain Wildlife Management Area, and Big Bend Ranch State Park. Topics covered included but not limited to interpretation, forest ecology, herpetology, ornithology, botany, hydrology, geology, soils, range management and archaeology. Instructors from Sul Ross State University, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and from our own rank and file master naturalists.
Please complete the attached application, background check form and mail with the $250 application fee to Tierra Grande Chapter, PO Box 133, Alpine, Texas 79831. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. If you are not accepted into the class of 2022, your application fee will be returned in a timely manner.
