The US Fish and Wildlife Service and the Friends of BNWR host an excellent set of programs that aim to connect young students with the great outdoors. They focus on subjects that schools would like to cover in class, but may lack the resources or just want to experience the real thing first hand. Field trips are usually on Tuesdays and Thursdays to teach students how to use microscopes with macro-invertebrate studies, we educate them on topics like animal adaptations and aquatic life, and we give them a hands-on-learning day with reptiles and nature walks/tours
DEEP programs occur most Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the school year.
