Spring 2020 New Member Training Schedules

The following chapters are hosting new member training classes during the Winter 2019-20 and Spring 2020 seasons. Each listing’s header will be linked to the chapter’s website or training class page. *NOTE: Each chapter has their own training schedule. This means that each chapter will train on different days/times and with varying recurrences. We highly recommend looking through the class schedule (if provided) to be sure you can attend all training sessions before registering.

Blackland Prairie Chapter
Registration Dates: Nov. 1st, 2019 – Jan. 15th, 2020
Training Dates: Feb. 12th – May 6th, 2020
Where: McKinney (Heard Natural History Museum)
Fee: $150

East Texas Chapter
Registration Dates: Rolling – First come, first served
Training Dates: Jan. 21st – April 14th, 2020
Where: Tyler (Discovery Science Place Annex, 308 N. Broadway)
Fee: $150
Notes: Meeting locations changed from previous years! Class limited to 25. Contact finwren@sbcglobal.net with any questions.

Gideon Lincecum Chapter
Registration Dates: Closes January 15th, 2020
Training Dates: January 20th – May 4th, 2020
Where: Winedale, Brenham, and surrounding areas. Mondays 1-4 PM and some Saturdays
Fee: $175 per person ($325 per couple) before Dec. 1st; $200/person ($350/couple) after Dec. 1st

Gulf Coast Chapter
Registration Dates: Flexible
Training Dates: January 25th – May 18th, 2020
Where: University of Houston – Downtown (Houston)
Fee: $175
Notes: Class size is limited to 20. Contact new.class.director@txgcmn.org with any questions.

Hays County
Registration Dates: Nov. 25th – Jan. 10th, 2020 (*early registration recommended due to high demand and limited space*)
Training Dates: Jan. 28th – Oct. 10th, 2020 (10 Tuesdays 6-9:30 PM; 3 Saturdays 9AM-12PM)
Where: Various locations in Hays County
Fee: $175

Heartwood Chapter
Registration Dates: Open now, closes March 1st
Training Dates: March 14th – Aug. 1st, 2020
Where: Huntsville/The Woodlands/Conroe
Fee: $150
Notes: Class size is limited to 35. Contact heartwoodtraining@gmail.com with any questions.

Highland Lakes
Registration Dates: Closes Dec. 15th, 2019
Training Dates: Feb. 24th – May 18th, 2020
Where: Blanco, Burnet, and Llano Counties
Fee: $180

Lost Pines Chapter
Registration Dates: Closes December 15th, 2019
Training Dates: Jan. 11th – June 6th, 2020
Where: Bastrop
Fee: $130 or $225 per couple
Notes: Class size limited to 25 people. Contact training@lostpinesmasternaturalist.org with any questions.

Mid-Coast Chapter
Registration Dates: Closes Jan. 10th, 2020 or when classes are full (*class is nearly filled – apply soon!*)
Training Dates: Feb. 1st – June 6th, 2020 (10 Saturday sessions; click here for tentative training schedule)
Where: Bastrop
Fee: $150

Piney Wood Lakes
Registration Dates: Closes February 10th
Training Dates: Feb. 13th – April 23rd, 2020
Where: Livingston (601 E. Church St.) and other locations
Fee: $140 per person or $210 per couple sharing a textbook
Notes: Class size limited to 20 people. Contact natuthill@sbcglobal.net with any questions.

Prairie Oaks Chapter
Registration Dates: Nov. 1st – Dec. 3rd, 2019
Training Dates: Jan. 15th – May 6th, 2020
Where: Stephenville (Tarleton State University)
Fee: $100 or $75 each for couples or family members sharing a book
Notes: Class size limited to 15 people

Red River Chapter
Registration Dates: March 18th & 19th at Orientation – see website or send an email for more information
Training Dates: March 28th – May 9th, 2020 (Saturdays)
Where: Several locations near Clarksville, final class in Mt. Vernon
Fee: $60 (includes chapter membership)
