2027 New Members Class

Our 2026 class is now complete. Information about how to register for our 2027 class will be posted later this year.

In the meantime, if you are interested in joining the Brush y Canyons Chapter of Texas Master Naturalist, contact training-class@brushycanyonstmn.org.

In general, joining the Texas Master Naturalist™ program involves completing:

  • Initial Training Class (40 hours) — Initial training includes both classroom and field instruction.
  • Advanced Training (8 hours) — A minimum of eight hours is required for Initial Certification. A minimum of eight hours is then required each subsequent year to retain the title Certified Master Naturalist. With many options for advanced training, you are sure to find a subject you will enjoy.
  • Volunteering (40 hours) — A minimum of 40 hours is required for Initial Certification. A minimum of 40 hours is then required each subsequent year in order to retain the title Certified Master Naturalist. Some of our volunteer projects can be found here.

Monthly chapter meetings

The next monthly chapter meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, in the Garner State Park Shady Meadows Shelter. Micayla Pearson will give a presentation on grassland restoration techniques and seed mix development in South Texas.
