Moth Night at Garner State Park

July 25 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Moth Night At Garner State Park Visitors Center – July 25th, 7-10pm

Moth Night at Garner State Park is part of a bigger global event called National Moth Week.  National Moth Week is an annual, global event that invites people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in the mothing hobby, by sharing photos of moths they find for citizen science.

What is Mothing ?

Mothing is the practice of attracting, observing, photographing, identifying, and documenting moths for enjoyment or scientific study.  These contributions help researchers study moth diversity, distribution, and ecology worldwide!

Participants can observe how to set up a mothing station used to attract moths and other insects.  We will also photograph moths and submit photographs to iNaturalist for identification.  Any moth photos submitted through iNaturalist during National Moth Week are automatically added to the National Moth Week project.
